About The Experience
Learn to make a restaurant-quality risotto like a professional Chef while you taste a delicious and expertly paired wine from Massican Wines. The 2020 Annia is Massican's flagship white wine blend sourced from small family vineyards around the Napa Valley. The three grape varietals, Tocai Friulano, Ribolla Gialla and Chardonnay, are harvested separately and fermented independently in French Oak and stainless steel tanks until blending six weeks before bottling. The Tocai and Ribolla build the aroma and flavor profile of the wine, while the Chardonnay adds to the wine’s structure. The wine is fresh but subtle, the perfect pairing for this fall risotto.

Chef Philip Tessier is an award-winning chef, author, coach, culinary partner, and innovator. Over the course of three decades, Tessier has worked at some of the world’s most renowned restaurants, including Roger Verge’s Le Moulin de Mougins, Eric Ripert’s Le Bernardin, as well as Thomas Keller’s Per Se, Bouchon and The French Laundry. He was the first American chef to ever place on the podium at the biennial Bocuse d'Or competition in Lyon, France, and most recently coached the 2017 US team to victory. He recounts this journey in his book Chasing Bocuse.
